Blake Thompson
Actor, Singer, Creator of Devised Work
About Blake

Hi, my name is Blake Thompson and I am from right across the golden gate bridge in northern California. The doctors told my mom that I would never walk when I was born so she put me in dance classes to help my development and that’s where I was introduced to performing. Through everything I’ve done I always seem to come back to theater and have been most inspired by actors like Sutton Foster, Florence Pugh, and Jessica Vosk.
I recently graduated from UCSB with a double degree in Acting and Communication. This means I work well with others and am good at making them look good, and I can think creatively and quickly on my feet. I have been in countless productions in various roles where I have gotten to work on both my acting and communication skills.
In college I found a new enthusiasm for devising work, and actually recently wrote a 7 minute one person show about my relationship to the word no, which is something I have trouble saying, but I’m working on it. This project helped me realize that I can combine my two degrees to comfort others in feeling not so alone, and understand the limits we tend to put on ourselves.
I am an actor, singer and devisor and believe all three of these bleed together very well in my work. I hope to dip my foot into the world of film and television, and inspire people in their own work, no matter what it is, with the stories I tell and the characters I step into.
